Palace Gardens Mews, London, W8
EXTRACT FROM THE WESTMINSTER MEWS – 7 DECEMBER 1989″The most secretive and forgotten mews in London must be Palace Garden Mews which runs parallel to what is still known as “Millionaire’s Row”, but is properly names Kensington Palace Gardens. At one time, the mews had an entrance from Notting Hill Gate, but this was blocked when the Czechoslovak Embassy was built in 1969.
Both the mews and the road leading to Kensington Palace and Palace Green were laid out by John Pennethorne, a pupil of John Nash, in the 1840s “for the wealthy and discerning classes” on a plot of ground know as Queen Anne’s Wilderness.”
